Outdoor Clothing Manufacturer for Europe

Europe Programme

More Than an Outdoor Clothing Factory. A Complete European Outdoor Programme.

European outdoor brands buy differently from the rest of the world. Performance claims have to be provable, chemistry has to be documented, and every style has to survive the EU compliance file. UniOuter (Zhejiang Hualilai, est. 2005) is an outdoor clothing manufacturer producing waterproof hiking shells, technical mountaineering jackets, camouflage hunting clothing, fishing outerwear and urban commuter jackets for brands, retailers and distributors across Europe.

We work three ways: as an OEM outdoor clothing factory building to your tech pack, as a private label supplier adapting proven styles under your own brand, and as an ODM partner developing new styles with you. From a single style to a complete seasonal range, fabric development, sampling, customization and manufacturing sit in one place — so you coordinate one supplier instead of five, and the finished range matches the brief, the brand and the paperwork.

How We Work

OEM, Private Label or ODM — Choose Your Model

European buyers usually start in one of three ways. Pick the model that matches how your team already works and we build the outdoor clothing programme around it.

OEM Manufacturing

Send your tech pack, patterns or a sealed sample. We engineer to your specification, match fabrics and membranes, and manufacture in bulk with per-style test reports.

See the OEM process

Private Label

Start from styles already in production, adapt fabric, colour and fit, and ship under your own brand with your labels, hangtags and packaging.

See private label support

ODM Development

Need a range but no tech pack yet? We develop patterns, fabrics and colourways against your target price, then you take it to market as your own design.

Scenarios

European Outdoor Scenarios

Alpine, cold-climate winter, forest hunting, coastal fishing and city commuter ranges all need different things from a jacket. UniOuter builds each programme around the way the garment is actually worn — from performance envelope and fabric choice to custom detailing and manufacturing.

Category, market, season, target price, brand position and the compliance standards your buyers require.

2

Define the Performance Envelope

Waterproof rating, breathability, insulation, weight, stretch and abrasion targets agreed as measurable numbers.

3

Match Fabrics & Membranes

Laminate, membrane, lining, insulation and PFAS-free DWR selected with laboratory data sheets.

4

Samples & Fit Approval

Proto and fit samples with graded size sets, revised until the sealed sample is approved.

The UniOuter Difference

Complete Programme Solutions

From a single style to a full seasonal range — fabric development, sampling, customization and manufacturing under one roof, so you coordinate one supplier instead of five.

Test-Data Backed Performance

Waterproof, breathability, abrasion and insulation verified by third-party laboratories, with rain protection classified against EN 343 and testing arranged under TUV Rheinland.

OEM / ODM & Customization

Size, material, colour and finish, structure, logo and packaging — built for brand programmes, private label and multi-market ranges.

Audit-Ready Supply Chain

OEKO-TEX aligned material sourcing and social-compliance documentation under the BSCI framework for retail and corporate buyers.

EU Compliance

Built for Europe’s Regulation Timeline

Outdoor apparel sold in Europe is now a regulated product, not only a designed one. UniOuter tracks the rules that apply to your range and structures the product data your buyers, retailers and Responsible Person will ask for.

ESPR · DPP

Ecodesign & the Digital Product Passport

Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 sets the framework for the coming apparel delegated act, with a per-product Digital Product Passport at its centre. We capture fibre origin, recycled content and care or repair data per style at production and hand it over structured for DPP entry.

ECHA · PFAS

The Universal PFAS Restriction

The proposed EU restriction covers water-repellent textile finishes across the market. Our C0 fluorochemical-free DWR options ship with spray-test and wash-durability reports, so your range does not have to be re-engineered when the restriction lands.

REACH · SVHC

REACH, SVHC & SCIP

Annex XVII restrictions, SVHC candidate-list duties above 0.1 % and SCIP notification for articles. We collect material declarations and screen fabric, membrane, zips, trims and prints against the current candidate list before bulk.

Green Claims

Green Claims Directive (EU) 2024/825

Environmental claims have to be substantiated and independently verified, and generic green wording is banned. Every sustainability claim we support is tied to a test report or a certificate — not to marketing language.

GPSR · Labelling

GPSR, Labelling & the EU Responsible Person

Regulation (EU) 2023/988 plus Textile Labelling Regulation 1007/2011 govern fibre composition, care instructions and the Responsible Person needed for the EU market. We produce destination-language fibre and care labels, compliant packaging and a documentation pack for your Responsible Person.

EPR · Textiles

Extended Producer Responsibility for Textiles

Separate textile collection started across the EU on 1 January 2025, with national EPR schemes and per-item fees following. Recycled-content options and durability testing help place styles in the right fee band and support resale value.

2024

GPSR in force — an EU Responsible Person is required for every product placed on the market.

2025

Separate textile collection across the EU, with national EPR schemes and fees phasing in.

2025–27

ECHA universal PFAS restriction decision, followed by transition periods for finishes.

2027–30

ESPR delegated act for apparel and the Digital Product Passport become applicable.

Programme

A European Programme, End to End

How a typical alpine-focused programme comes together — from performance envelope to documented bulk delivery.

Challenge

A European outdoor brand needed an alpine-focused range — 3-layer shells plus insulated layers — at a fixed target cost, with PFAS-free DWR and full test documentation for its retail partners.

Solution

UniOuter developed the fabric and membrane options against the brand’s performance envelope, produced fit samples and graded size sets, then consolidated shells and insulated layers onto one audited line with per-style test reports.

Result

A repeatable two-season programme with documented waterproof and breathability data, delivered with the compliance pack the brand’s buyers required.

Programme details are anonymised at our partners’ request — the two case studies in the Trust section below show how this structure runs in practice.

From One Pilot Style to a Full Alpine Shell Range

3-Layer Alpine Shell Programme · 4 consecutive seasons

The Starting Point

The brand came to us with a designer’s tech pack, one pilot style and no Asian production base. Their retail partners required provable waterproof and breathability data, PFAS-free DWR and a complete compliance file before the range could reach shelves.

How We Worked Together

  1. Tech pack reviewed line by line with their designer before quoting.
  2. Performance envelope agreed: 20,000 mm waterproof, 15,000 g/m²/24h breathability.
  3. 3-layer laminate and C0 PFAS-free DWR matched with laboratory data sheets.
  4. Proto samples in 15 days, three fit rounds to the approved sealed sample.
  5. Bulk run on one audited line with per-style test reports shipped with the goods.

The Results

8styles scaled from 1 pilot style to a full alpine range
21 daysfrom approved tech pack to sealed sample
98.6%on-time delivery across 4 seasons
0 majorAQL defects at final inspection, 4 seasons running
“UniOuter turned our tech pack into production-ready samples in three weeks — and the test data has stood up to our retail partners’ audits every season since.”— Product Director, Outdoor Brand, Germany
A Private-Label Winter Range Built for Retail Price Points
Case Study 02 · Outdoor Retail Group · Northern Europe

A Private-Label Winter Range Built for Retail Price Points

Insulated multi-category private label · year-round reorders

The Starting Point

A northern-European retail group wanted its own private-label winter range but had no patterns, no size blocks and a hard retail price to hit. They needed a factory that could engineer cost down without cutting the specification.

How We Worked Together

  1. Three winter categories mapped against their store’s price ladder.
  2. Men’s and women’s pattern blocks built and graded across every size run.
  3. Fabric, insulation and trims value-engineered to hold the retail price point.
  4. 2,400-pc pilot run with EU labelling, hangtags and retail packaging to their artwork.
  5. Scaled to a full range with consolidated shipping and a document pack for every drop.

The Results

24 SKUsacross 3 winter categories, one range architecture
36,000 pcsannual volume reached by year three
22%unit cost reduction through value engineering
+40%reorder growth, year on year
“From one pilot style to a full private-label range at our price point — the same quality and the same finish, three seasons running.”— Head of Sourcing, Outdoor Retail Group, Northern Europe

FAQ

Europe Programme FAQ

The questions European buyers ask us most — MOQ, sampling, lead time, compliance and shipping. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

What is the minimum order quantity for a custom jacket programme?

MOQ is typically 300–500 pcs per style and colour, depending on fabric and construction. For a first trial order we can discuss a lower quantity on an existing pattern.

How long does sampling take?

Proto samples are normally ready in 10–15 days, and a full graded size set in 3–4 weeks after the design is frozen. Two to three fit rounds are usual before the sealed sample is approved.

What is the bulk production lead time?

45–60 days after sealed-sample approval and deposit, depending on membrane and fabric availability. We confirm the schedule with your PO and flag long-lead material at quotation stage.

Do you work as OEM, ODM or private label?

All three. You can supply a complete tech pack (OEM), adapt our existing patterns and constructions (ODM), or build a private-label range with your own branding, labelling and packaging.

Can you supply PFAS-free DWR?

Yes. C0 fluorochemical-free DWR is available across our shell range and is supplied with spray-test and wash-durability reports, so your water-repellency claims stay documented.

Which certifications and audits do you hold?

ISO 9001 quality management, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for materials, BSCI social compliance, Global Recycled Standard for recycled content and REACH / PFAS chemical compliance. Certificate numbers and validity dates are provided on request.

Do you provide third-party test reports?

Yes. Waterproof and breathability testing is arranged with partners such as TÜV Rheinland, with rain protection classified against EN 343 and breathability measured to EN ISO 11092. Abrasion and insulation tests are added where the programme requires them.

Can you handle EU labelling, packaging and Digital Product Passport data?

Yes. Fibre and care labels in the destination language, retail-ready packaging to your artwork, and per-style data — fibre origin, recycled content, care and repair information — structured for ESPR / DPP handover.

Do you produce custom camouflage and brand detailing?

Yes. Camo artwork is produced from your tech pack, together with embossed or printed logos, custom zips and pulls, trims, hangtags and packaging.

What are your payment terms?

Normally 30 % deposit with the balance against a copy of the bill of lading; L/C at sight is also accepted. Terms are agreed per programme and confirmed on the order.

Which shipping terms do you work on, and how long does delivery to Europe take?

FOB Ningbo or Shanghai as standard, with CIF and DDP to EU ports and delivery addresses on request. Sea transit to Rotterdam, Hamburg or Antwerp is typically 25–35 days, with air and rail available for urgent drops.

Can we visit the factory or start with a sample order?

Both. We welcome factory visits and video walk-throughs of the cutting, sewing and QC lines, and a paid sample order is the usual way to start before committing to a bulk programme.

Still need an answer on a specific style, fabric or compliance point?

Tell Us About Your Programme. We’ll Help You Build the Right Range.

Send your style list, category brief or a reference garment — we will come back with fabric options, a sampling plan and indicative pricing.
